STORM

RED Medic hated fighting when it was storming. Not because of the rain, or the lightning. It was the thunder that scared him. Growing up in the time period they were in, he was younger during wars. The thunder reminded him of the bombs going off, and shook the thin man to the core.

He was currently hiding out in the sewers beneath 2Fort, huddled in a corner. Part of him wanted to run at the cries of his class name, but most of him wanted to go deeper, hide from the loud booming noises. He knew he was going to get chewed out by the Soldier when the battle finally ended, but he didn't care. He just wanted the thunder to stop. He had his eyes closed, and his gloved hands over his ears, in a pitiful attempt to block out the loud noises.

And, it was working. A little too well. He was shocked that no one had found him yet(Scouts loved taking these sewer routs). What he didn't know, what he HAD been seen. The strong smell of cigarettes brought Medic out of his daze. Hands still clamped to his ears, he looked up, gasping at the shadowed figure standing at the mouth of one of the pipes.

The figure stepped out of the shadows, revealing itself to be the BLU Spy. Something seemed off about him, but the frightened German couldn't place it. He shrunk back further into his corner, whimpering now. As if bad storms and flashbacks weren't bad enough, he now had the BLU Spy to deal with. The Spy smiled over at him, and motioned for the Medic to remove his hands from his ears. Medic hesitated, but did as the Spy wished.

"Zhat is better, ma belle. What are you doing down here? Zhere iz a battle going on, non?" The voice seemed off somehow, but the French accent flowed just as thick as their own Spy's. Thunder boomed again, and Medic yelped, clamping his hands back over his ears. The Spy sighed, realizing that this man was scared of the storms. He started to walk forward, but stopped where the small set of stairs led up to where the Medic was.

Spy motioned for Medic to remove his hands again, and once again, the RED did.

"You are scared of zhe storm... Iz zhat why you are hiding down here, while your comrads are up zhere?" Medic nodded, ashamed of that fact. A particularly loud boom of thunder had Medic yelping and rushing into the Spy's arms, much to the surprise of the French man. Spy just smiled, petting the  German's hair and muttering soothing things in french.

Medic took a breath, and detached from the Spy, taking a step back.

"I... Apologize for mein actions here, Herr Spy. I just... Remember zhe var vhenever zhere is a storm. I am ashamed of zhat, but zhere is nozhing I can do about it.." He fixed his glasses, then sat against the railing at the edge of the platform, his back to the water. Spy walked over, leaning agains the same railing, lighting another cig(since his was knocked out of his mouth and into the murky water by Medic.

"Zhere iz nozhing wrong wizh being afraid of somezhing, ma belle... Even someone like me, iz scared of somezhing..." He muttered, thinking of that horrid Pyro who often stalks these sewers. He as thankful he often got away, diving in the deeper water to escape the flames.

Medic looked up and back, staring at the Spy. He wasn't friendly with their own Spy, so he didn't know much about Spies. But, it seemed odd to him, that a Spy would fear anything, much less admit that something scared him.

"Herr Spy...."

The sound of splashing interupted Medic before he could even form a thought. Following that, was the sound of Pyro's flamethrower. Spy jumped back, then ran for deeper water, yelling out "Mon Dieu!" as he did. Pyro appeared, his suit dripping wet, and rushed to the doctor.

"Mrr nnt hrrt, rr yyyh?"

Medic thought for a second, before shaking his head.

"Nein... Zhe Spy did not hurt me at all, mein Freund. In fact, he was surprisingly... Nice..."

"Wwl, we nnd yrr hllp. Cmm nnn!" Pyro grabbed the man's arm, and Medic had to quickly grab his Medigun before he was pulled into the water, and out of the sewers. He took one last look in the direction the Spy went, sighing a bit. He was looking forward to meeting the Spy again, and he wasn't sure why.

Meanwhile, in the deeper waters, Spy's head popped up, with just his nose and eyes above the water. When he was sure th Pyro was gone, he stood all the way up, leaning against the wall. A long, blue tentacle popped up out of the water, wiggling a bit before reaching in the blue suit and pulling out the cig case. Spy grabbed one, lit it, and took a puff, sighing a bit.

"I hope we can meet again, mon cher.... I enjoyed our short talk..."
